I’m Daphne, and I run Meeples & Mischief. I review board games the way I’d talk about them at the table: verdict first, then the reasons behind it. No hype, no gushing. Just whether I’d buy it again and why.
My audience is hobby gamers who own a shelf and want to know if a game is worth their money and their table time. Solo players are a big part of it: my solo reviews of Ark Nova, Obsession, SETI, Saltfjord and Inventors of the South Tigris are some of my most-read work. English-language, based in the Netherlands.

How I work
- Turnaround: a first impression within 2 weeks of the copy arriving, a full review within 6 weeks.
- Prototypes welcome. Coverage is clearly labelled as a prototype, and the verdict is about the prototype.
- Unsolicited review copies are welcome. I can’t promise coverage for every game I receive, but I play everything that arrives.
- Every review says how I played: number of plays, player counts and where the copy came from.
The one rule
Paid or gifted never changes the verdict. A publisher copy can get a Pass, and that Pass gets published. Every gifted copy, paid post and affiliate link is disclosed. That’s why a Buy from me means something.
